A long layover in Manila is definitely boring, since the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (where most international flights enter) is not yet as modern as other airports in the world, while the new NAIA Terminal 3 (where Cebu Pacific international flights land) is ultra-modern, but doesn’t have that much stores and restaurants yet.
Newport City is the closest and just across NAIA Terminal 3 if you don’t want to consider heavy traffic from other suggestions below:
1.) Ayala Center, 30 minutes from the airport where you can go to Glorietta Mall, Greenbelt Mall, Ayala Museum for shopping, dining, drinking, and museum.
2.) Mall of Asia, 15 minutes from the airport where you can go for shopping, dining, drinking, and sightseeing of Manila Bay.
3.) Bonifacio Global City, 20 minutes from the airport where you can go to Bonifacio High Street, Serendra Bars, The Fort Strip for shopping, dining, and drinking.
Newport City is a 25-hectare area set next to the Villamor golf course and Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Metro Manila, Philippines.
It was developed by Megaworld Corporation under its subsidiary Megaworld Newport Property Holdings, Inc. and houses Resorts World Manila – Maxims Hotel which claims to be a six-star hotel.
It combines a residential block, hotels including Marriott and Maxims, a themed entertainment and commercial hub, a cyber park and an institutional center. Only 40 percent of the low-density enclave was set aside for buildings. The rest of the area is dedicated for parks and landscaped gardens.
